wil lead a special series of poses to help you feel grounded again in
the new year, to feel reconnected with your foundation and to increase
your strength and stability. we will explore ways to rise up from our
rootedness and realign with our own divine power and purpose. this will
be an inspiring, moderate practice, great for realizing new year's
intentions and beyond! this special session will feature live drumming
and percussion by alex pevzner and friends.

what a lovely way to celebrate valentines day! thai yoga massage, a synthesis of yoga and shiatsu massage, originated in the buddhist temples of thailand. during a session, the recipient lies on a mat on the floor, fully clothed and supported with pillows, and is guided gently into yoga postures while the practitioner applies assorted massage techniques along the energy lines of the body. the benefits include deep stretching, relief of muscular tension, increased circulation, and increased range of motion. in this workshop, kezia will demonstrate key elements of a thai yoga massage session, and teach participants how to practice these simple techniques with each other. bring a friend or a loved one to work with. please wear what you'd normally wear to a gentle yoga class, and bring your yoga mat (or a foam mat) and a standard bed pillow. xox

Yoga is a truly profound, totally rejuvenating and incredible journey
into the art of relaxation. Join Emma & Kate in this workshop that
allows you to release deeply held tensions in your body through a series
of supported postures that are restful and soothing. Emma will guide
you through this restorative journey, sometimes referred to as 'lazy
mans yoga'. You will be laying with blankets, bolsters and other props
and resting so very comfortably in each posture that the body will want
to completely rest and let go. Giving the body some much welcome rest
and chill time while also enjoying mini-massages in some of the
postures. Kate will be stimulating acupuncture points while you are in
poses that enhance relaxation and stimulate the body's healing
mechanisms. Needles, magnets and acupressure will be used for those who
would like them. All you need do? Relax Rejuvenate and be prepared to

in our 'hands-on' classes i will lead you verbally in your practice & i will physically be assisting your body guiding it to the fullest potential that youc an find in the different sequences and asanas that well specifically work though in this class. the warrior family falls under the standing asana section, but also they have a balancing asana amongst them. we gain so many benefits from these beautiful asanas assist in the production of lubricating hip and knee joints, creating flexibility and fluidity in the whole leg, hip and lower back and in our 'off the mat' practice in a strong tough world we're teaching our bodies to hold firm, our minds to be strong and ready for the challenges of our day, but with the yogic warrior we are peaceful, non-harming, not only with our physical actions in the world but with our thoughts and attitude and words and actions. this class is for an intermediate to strong practice. this will suit you if you have a good knowledge of asana practice. vinyasa, flow, power & hot styles of yoga will find this hands-on class will suit, enhance and compliment your practice. meditations under the moon - with emma - $20 - sunday 11th march @6-715pm join me to celebrate the 13 full moons of 2012. we'll start with the third full moon of the year, the 'worm' moon.
each month in this class we will begin with a 10-15 minute pranayama
technique (breath awareness), which will also be our first meditation
practice.
the incredible healing qualities we get from our 'chi', 'life-force',
'prana' - BREATH, are scientifically profound, from physically to
mentally and emotionally.
we will then spend 10-15 minutes working on a specific meditation. each
class will have an intention for our awareness of focus and
concentration and then in each class we will end and close the practice
with a 20-30 minute guided meditation while relaxing in a supported
shavasana (rest pose).
this class is designed for the very beginner of meditation. someone who
is looking to have an hour of guided peacefulness and rest. someone
looking to start a meditation practice in a class/community setting.
this class is designed to give you the techniques to go home and
continue your practice daily for the rest of the momnth to really absorb
and infuse yourself in this meditation of the worm moon.

BACKBENDS & HIPS setu bandha sarvangasana (bridge), dhanurasana (bow), eka pada rajakapotasana I (one legged king pigeon) in our 'hands-on' classes i will lead you verbally in your practice, as well as physically assisting your body guiding it to the fullest potential that you can find in the different sequences and asanas that we'll specifically work through in this class. the backbend family and hip asanas are a beautiful compliment to teach other. we gain so many benefits from these beautiful asanas, physically on the mat we gain amazing lower back strength, these asanas assist in the production of lubricating hip and knee joints, creating flexibility and fluidity in the whole leg, hip and lower back, and in our 'off the mat' practice in a strong tough world we're teaching our bodies to hold firm, our minds to be strong and ready for the challenges of our day. energetically we help to remove toxins from the liver chi (anger and frustrations and resentments live here) and the backbends work our kidney chi that deals with our fears in the world. backbends are also a beautiful natural tonic to help lift and boost mood from mild to severe levels of depression. we will move slowly, peacefully, and non-harming not only with our physical actions in the world but with our thoughts and attitude and words and actions. this class will suit a chill or beginner student. the intention is to build these poses on a basic level, so that we can work more alignment and gentle stretching and therefore have a 'chill' intention to this class. this will suit you if you enjoy our 'chill' classes or are a beginner to yoga. (kripalu and iyengar methods will be influenced in our aligning techniques) for my more advanced students you'll enjoy this because we can start to refine and tweak and play with some more challenging versions of the classes asanas:)
yoga for GOLF- with ann - $35 or $60 for a couple - sunday 25th march @130-330pm
Learn and practice yoga postures that can help achieve one of the most fundamental keys to the perfect golf swing: the separation of upper and lower body. We will also focus on stretching and strengthening the hips and thighs, abdominals, and all parts of the spine with standing postures, twists, and core work. When practiced regularly, yoga can help free the spine and strengthen the body to find the upper/lower rotation necessary to perfect your golf swing. You will receive a handout illustrating a yoga sequence that you can practice at home. What do you have to lose (other than a few strokes off your game!)?
